Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Huron

Anne’s Diner next door was such a good bonus that we ate there three times. We were in town for work, and our boss booked us at this Days Inn. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the brand based on past stays, but this location exceeded my expectations. Check-in was easy and quick, and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with big cozy beds and crisp, bright white sheets and towels. If I could give more than five stars, I would. This Days Inn went above and beyond.

Stacy, the desk manager, was awesome and very helpful. We had a jacuzzi suite and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, and check-in and check-out were quick. It’s close to lots of Port Huron attractions. I’d highly recommend it.

The one good thing was that this was the only hotel in the area with a room with three beds for a larger family. Otherwise, the TV didn’t work, and the walls and floors were way too thin. We heard all kinds of noise from above at midnight and early morning, from running sink water and showers to footsteps. It was so annoying. The window shade didn’t work well either. A big bright light in the backyard shone through, and the shade couldn’t block it completely. I couldn’t see why they needed such a bright light in the middle of the night, so I had to ask them to turn it off.

The bathroom looked like it had been remodeled recently, and the shower pressure was pretty good. They mentioned free breakfast, but I didn’t try it, so I can’t say how it was. I stayed just one night before getting a room somewhere else. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t good: the thin, cheap-feeling floors, odd room smell, and stiff beds made for a rough stay. The walls were incredibly thin, and guests upstairs woke us between 1 and 3 am. Staff also didn’t bring extra or replacement towels when I asked. I wouldn’t stay here again.
