Hampton Inn Port Huron

The hot tub accommodation was nice, and staff were polite and helpful with our questions and concerns. Our rooms felt fresh, and the bathrooms were clean and stocked. Overall, we had a good experience.

The staff were very nice and accommodating, but I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Room 304 smelled strongly of mushrooms, like serious, dangerous mold to me. That seems hazardous and makes me think there could be mold in the air. The carpet felt filthy, and the beds were in terrible shape and very noisy with almost every movement. NASTY. Find somewhere better.

The woman dressed as a scarecrow was super nice, but our stay was awful. We booked one night for Halloween and got room #328. As soon as I walked in, the smell made me gag. The bed was just okay, still uncomfortable, and the room needed to be torn apart. The carpets were gross. There was pink stuff in the shower and tub, and I couldn’t tell whether it was vomit or mold, so I didn’t shower. I only dipped my feet in the pool. It was very cold, there was a key card and a lot of brown stuff at the bottom, and several tiles overhead needed fixing. I didn’t try the hot tub after seeing the pool. Then, while my friend and I were packing to leave, housekeeping just opened the door, even though our “do not disturb” sign was up. I used to be a housekeeper, and usually they knock a few times and call “housekeeping!!” That didn’t happen at all. For almost $200 a night, find another hotel. It wasn’t worth it.

Staff were friendly, kind, and accommodating, but the hotel needs a lot of work. We had lukewarm water, and the door to the adjoining room was off when we needed privacy. The remodeled room had workmanship issues, and a fire alarm interrupted our stay while upgrades were underway. Ownership leaves a lot to be desired.
