Homewood Suites Port St Lucie

The location is great, right next to Pop Stroke, and the front desk people are always nice. We came last year and again this year, with the same issues both times: rooms are cleaned only every three days, and they need a more thorough clean between guests. This time, the previous guests' toiletries were left in the shower, and the shower gel dispenser had shampoo in it. I called the front desk about both, and a gentleman came up to replace the shower gel. For the price, I guess you can put up with some oversights. The window in our room, shown in the picture, could use an outside wash.

Both rooms felt damp and humid under my bare feet, even with the AC set to 72, and the bed was uncomfortable. A really thick mattress pad might help. The room was clean, and the hair and body wash smelled good. We chose Homewood Suites Tradition because it was close to Cleveland Clinic, where our Grandson is due to be born later this year, and we expect to return. My 88-year-old Mother in law was in the connected room, felt unwell, and left two days early. We also left a day early because we weren't sleeping well and wanted to get back to help her. But since the room was non-refundable, supervisor Aaron said we could only receive 5,000 Hilton points. We won't stay at Homewood Suites Tradition again.

Tony-Ann W greeted us right away at check-in. She was very sweet and spoke highly of both the hotel and its owners, saying they strive for excellence and are strict about how everything looks. We could see what she meant: the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the hotel looked so fresh that my husband and I asked if it was new. She told us it had been there since 2009, which surprised us. Thank you, Hilton Homewood Suites, for caring about our stay!

The free breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had, better than many paid ones. The gym and pool area are excellent too, though the water cooler needs fixing so it can give cool water. The parking lot is free of litter, and I always found a space near my entrance. I've stayed here several times over the last few years, usually for more than a week, and the place is now badly in need of renovation. It feels run down, like maintenance and the guest experience don't get enough funding. The staff are exceptional and could make the stay fantastic with better tools to work with. But they can't fix the poor water pressure, thin scratchy toilet paper that separates when you tear it, worn carpets, missing dish soap, mismatched silverware, dirty outside windows that let in all the sound, chipped furniture, or scratchy towels. It rates around 3.5-4 stars for me. The hotel needs renovation, a better room layout, better towels, and more.
