Candlewood Suites Corpus Christi - Portland by IHG

Candlewood Suites has been the most dependable place I've stayed around Port Aransas and Corpus Christi. The rooms stay clean, the property is cared for, and the helpful staff keep the experience at a high level every time. Check-in is easy, and when something does come up, they know how to handle it, which isn't always the case at this price. For longer stays, having a full kitchen in every suite is practical. The beds are comfortable and the Wi-Fi works well. You're near Corpus Christi, the port corridor, and some excellent South Texas seafood. Vacationers get consistent service, useful amenities, and fair rates. It's an easy choice for quality and service on the Coastal Bend, without gimmicks or surprises.

The quiet hotel has been great while I work remotely. I've set up here just as comfortably as in my home office, and housekeeping keeps everything consistently clean and well cared for. I'm staying about another month and don't have a complaint. The whole team has made this a comfortable, easy experience during a stressful time, and I'd recommend the hotel to anyone looking for somewhere welcoming and reliable. I've been here for about a month and a half while construction is going on at my home, and it really feels like a second home. I'm a Portland native and have stayed in the Portland/Corpus Christi area, but this is hands down the best hotel I've experienced here. It's cozy and inviting, exactly what I needed. The front desk staff are professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They greet you with a smile every time. A special thank you to Diana, who has made my family's stay so good. She's knowledgeable and helpful, and when my cats somehow latched the inside lock and shut me out, she got me back into the room quickly. She's always willing to go above and beyond. Thanks to everyone for turning what could've been a stressful stay into something enjoyable. I appreciate it more than I can say.

The rooms are really nice, but the smells need sorting out. My room smelled bad, the stairwell smelled like vomit, and the walls are so thin you can hear the people next door.

The rooms were nice and the staff friendly, but there wasn't a pool, just a grill area that was filthy and needed attention. We asked whether there was a pool we could use and got a definite no.
