Courtyard Portland Downtown/Waterfront

Gabe drove us to the airport and was exceptional, and the staff were very nice. The room was very nice too. One small issue, though: the toilet paper holder was three feet from the toilet, so a child couldn’t reach it, though there were other options. Most of the view was blocked by buildings, even though we were on the top floor. There was also a dog barking downstairs all day. Staff tried to contact its owner but couldn’t, and the barking finally stopped in the early evening.

The room was cozy and the staff were amazing, so sweet and doing their best to make our stay perfect. But nearly everything was broken or out of order. The pool, which we’d been told was fixed, still wasn’t in service when we arrived. There was no ice machine on the fifth or fourth floor. Our door was broken and sometimes wouldn’t lock, but at other times locked so well that my mother got locked out and needed staff to help. The heating and cooling were broken too, and it took two fixes before they actually worked. My family and I were there for two days on the fifth floor.

Bailey was so helpful when we checked in, answering our questions about the area and adjusting our nightly room rate because it had dropped since we booked, without us even asking. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was great. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re back in Portland.

I checked in late a few weeks ago and the room was 72 degrees. I turned on the AC and went to bed, hoping it would cool off. At 1am, I woke up and it had reached 78. The lobby said the only thing they could do was disable the heat at the fuse panel, but the room stayed above 78 all night. I emailed the general manager and front desk afterward and haven’t heard back.
