We arrived late and our room type wasn’t available, but the staff found us an even better room. The place felt brand new, like the rooms had never been used. The location was great, with parks, restaurants, and other spots easy to reach on foot. We’ll be back. Breakfast was delicious and complimentary. One of the team even surprised our son with a small stuffed animal.

Lower-floor rooms can get highway noise, the hotel’s strong scent may bother people who are sensitive to it, and parking is pricey. Still, this is a dependable option for a business or leisure trip, especially if you can get a river-view room. I’d give it 4.5-5. The Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront, often called the “Marriott Downtown Portland,” has a central spot for walking to downtown attractions, parks, and events. Rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the gym and on-site dining get consistent praise. Views of the Willamette River are stunning, and from higher floors you may see Mt. Hood on a clear day.

I was in town on business over Thanksgiving and felt grateful to have such a good place to stay. It’s not far from the airport, and the photos on the website actually matched what I found. The room was fresh and clean, with a nice bed, a TV that worked well, and the hot shower I need. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and so helpful. When I ran into trouble using the app to book, they sorted everything out for me. Best experience ever. I’d happily come back.

The service was terrible, and management brushed me off when I asked for some kind of accommodation. My car was also lost by the valet the next morning, though I know that can happen. Check-in took 2 q/2 hours because my company credit card ran into problems when the hotel’s card system went down. The desk clerk couldn’t work out how to fix the tech issue, so my friend ended up buying the room. She was very nice, at least. Don’t go here.
