Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Waterfront

We’ve stayed at this property five times over the past year, and each time it’s been spotless, organized, and welcoming. What stands out most is how friendly and professional all the staff are. Everyone made sure things ran smoothly and that we felt genuinely cared for.

On a recent short stay, I found the room very comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. The staff were especially helpful when my luggage went missing, through no fault of theirs. They were cheerful, practical, and quick to handle every message. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Many thanks, and I highly recommend this hotel.

MacKenzie at the front desk gave tremendous service and was a great help. The hotel was wonderful for our dog, too, and our five-year-old mini Doodle felt comfortable there. The rooms were outstanding, and breakfast had lots of buffet options. The location is excellent, close to everything in Portland, with the waterfront just a two-minute walk away.

I booked through hotels.com for two nights and reserved two queen beds, but when we arrived they said they were overbooked and moved us to a king bed with a pull-out couch. I was there with my three children and their father. The first night, I woke up being bitten by bugs and found multiple bites on my body. Then my 10-year-old daughter put her toiletries bag on the bathroom shelf, and the shelf came right off the wall, leaving her badly scraped and bruised on the leg. We packed up and got out of there. I asked for a refund after that awful experience. They wouldn’t refund even the night we’d stayed, and I was also hassled about the prepaid second night. This was meant to be a two-night getaway to reward my daughter for facing her fears and singing in a talent show, which she did amazingly well. Instead it was a nightmare, and she left injured. I truly feel they put us in that room on purpose because we booked through an app for cheaper rates. It’s not right, and I hope nobody else goes through this.
