Viking Motel

The owners are very friendly, and the location right on the MAX line is super convenient. Nearby restaurants, a coffee shop, grocery store, and Fred's are all within walking distance. The bathroom fan was really loud, and the heat didn’t work very well.

We never actually stayed here. After hours on the road, we were told at the desk that only the person whose card booked the room could check out, unless the other guest agreed to have their card charged too. It shouldn't cost twice as much just to let a second guest check out the next day. Only one person can go into the office at a time, and checkout is limited to 8-11 a.m., which is a problem if you have an early start. The staff handled the situation badly, and it left both of us scrambling for somewhere else to stay or facing a night in the car. I wouldn't recommend booking this motel.

We'd driven four hours with our 3-month-old daughter when we found out at check-in that the person booking had to be at least 21. That requirement wasn't listed on the website, or we wouldn't have booked. My husband tried first, then I went in because I'm 21, but the owner refused to let me book and just kept saying no. He'd also been rude to my husband when he was called. Now we had nowhere to sleep with our baby. I'm furious. -10/5 experience. Do not stay here.

After driving nearly four hours, we were turned away even though my wife is over 21 and tried to book a room. We had booked online and hadn't seen any 21+ rule, and they also refused us because our 3-month-old daughter was with us. We ended up with nowhere to go. Worst motel experience I've had, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone traveling with a little one.
