Royal Inn

The room had a nasty smell throughout, and it was infested with bed bugs and mold. I wasn't happy with its condition.

The walls were thin, but nobody bothered us or our vehicle outside. The service was good, and I'd stay again since the place was mostly clean and mostly quiet. We booked a king smoking room with an amazingly soft bed. It was pretty clean, apart from a few cobwebs, but the air conditioning stopped working, so they moved us. The new room had a double bed and a twin. The twin was soft and comfortable, while the double felt like a cheap mattress. That room was fairly clean too, except someone else's leftovers under the toilet seat. Towels were large but thin, and there were only two for two people.

For $74 a night, this was the cheapest place in Portsmouth Ohio 45662. The rooms were cleanish, and smoking was allowed. It came with a Roku TV and direct satellite TV.

I've watched this little place go downhill a lot, having grown up in the area. It's in a rough neighborhood. Some rooms are nice and cleaned well, while others have been used so much for drugs they should just be torn down. I won't stay there myself, but I might visit friends who do stay again.
