The Maid's Quarters Bed Breakfast & Tearoom

The afternoon tea and breakfast the next morning were both wonderful, and staying overnight felt like stepping back in time. The home dates to 1829, so it’s all old, which was part of its charm for us. Allyson and her staff were genuine, helpful, and friendly. I found this lovely little tea room, which is also a bed and breakfast, while looking for somewhere my wife hadn’t tried yet. It’s within easy walking distance of many attractions for visitors from out of town. We highly recommend it.

I stayed the night after a great Yuengling beer tour, and the made-to-order breakfast with juice and coffee between 8-9 am came with a pleasant conversation. Allyson welcomed me and showed me to the historic lavender room. It was spotless, smelled lovely, and every detail felt thoughtfully arranged. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and local soaps were provided. There was also coffee, tea, snacks, and water in the room. Parking is free across the street, just pick up a pass in the foyer after check-in. A great B&B in the heart of Pottsville PA. Thanks, Allyson, 5+ stars. I’ll visit again.

We’ll be back, and I’d definitely recommend this place. The service is excellent, and breakfast is cooked to order from a menu in the dining and tea room downstairs. Each room has a mini-fridge and Keurig. We stayed in the Lavender Room, which was comfortable, though its bathroom felt a bit cramped. It was our first visit, and the confirmation email instructions made check-in very easy.

We really didn’t want to leave. The room was cozy, the decor adorable, and the welcome sign, candy, and seasonal coffee were such nice little extras. Allyson is so sweet and makes a fabulous breakfast. Five stars don’t feel like enough for this beautiful place.
