Northwood Inn Prairie Du Chien

The service is what I'll remember most. After checkout, I realized I'd left a fairly expensive Bluetooth mouse and keyboard set behind. That same day, the owner or staff texted to ask if I'd forgotten them. I was still in town, so they held onto the set until I came back that evening. It was a huge help, and I really appreciate them going the extra mile to get my things back. I was traveling for business, and the rates were reasonable. My room was clean and had the basic amenities you'd expect, and breakfast was good. The mini-waffles were delicious. I'll definitely return if I'm ever back in Prairie du Chien.

We've stayed here twice, and both times my husband and I were really happy with the room and breakfast. The bed was so good that my husband, who has back problems, woke up able to move freely. That doesn't often happen after a motel stay. We asked what kind of mattress it was, and the owner was very helpful. The coffee was great too, which isn't usually the case. Breakfast is hot and good, though there aren't loads of choices. There were pancakes, eggs, good sausage, and biscuits and gravy. The price was great and seems consistent. It's clean, and it feels like a home away from home. I've worked in hotels before, and this is great value for the money.

The price was really low, and the people working there were warm and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet, and breakfast had plenty to choose from, including biscuits and gravy, sausage links, egg patties, cereal, waffles, and real orange juice. I stayed on 22 April 26 and was very happy with it. If you're in town, give it a try. Huckleberry's across the street is a great spot for supper too.

The room itself was nice, and most of the stay was great. The problem was the bill. We expected to pay 64$ a night, but were charged 104$ per night. When we asked for a receipt, it showed extra charges, including a "food and beverage tax" and four "lodging tax" charges. That's where the experience went downhill.
