Quality Inn & Suites Prairie Du Chien

We've been back to the Quality Inn many times while riding in the Driftless area. Both the king suite and the double queens were roomy, with space for our gear and to relax, and the rooms were clean and fairly priced. We could park right in front, and it felt safe for our motorcycles. Black Angus supper club is within walking distance, a nice dinner stop after a day riding the Driftless.

The hot tub was a favorite, and breakfast was a treat, especially the scrambled eggs, which tasted fresh and were cooked just right. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. I haven't stayed in such a clean hotel in ages.

The pool had things floating in it, and I spent over two hours listening to the woman say milk for the continental breakfast was on its way. There was no wifi or working phone, and the keycards only worked about half the time. I really don't recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was good, though the breakfast person seemed zoned out or unhappy and didn't make eye contact. Nobody was rude, and the staff we dealt with were fine, but the room and the overall stay felt strange. We'd reserved a king, but were offered a queen room with a spa tub instead, and we accepted. The bed was comfortable but squeaky. The shower was inside the tub, which had mirrors on three sides and looked like it dated from the 90's or earlier. The furniture was an odd mix, including an old pedal sewing machine as the TV stand, alongside modern artwork. Bathroom lighting was poor, and some mirrors weren't clean. There's no way we'd have sat in that tub. The room needs remodeling. We'll be in the area often, but aren't sure we'd stay here again.
