The best parts of the stay were a friendly casino atmosphere, a very good breakfast at The Diner, and seeing the Zoltar machine. The lead manager and her staff were super friendly, and the meal was good. The machines were very “tight,” though. It’s about 30 minutes to Vegas from the state line, and I’d say the extra drive is worth it. The hotel itself was sadly the worst we’ve ever stayed in. We’d been going to Buffalo Bills for decades and always saw Primm Valley looking festive with its lights, so we decided to try it. The room and hallways were run down, dirty, and eerie. The room photos looked like they might be 30 years old. We were in the back lot section, where the entry doors didn’t need hotel keys. Anyone could get in, and there seemed to be shady people around. Inside, we found cockroaches, stained lampshades, a dangling fire alarm, poorly vacuumed carpets, a dingy yellow pillowcase that looked overused, and damaged, stained furniture that seemed to date from when the hotel opened. The heater and air conditioner were so loud it was hard to sleep, and we heard every step from the room above. It sounded like they might fall through the ceiling. The elevators smelled bad and had damaged decor. The $43 resort fee stung. Sure, there was a mini fridge, but an old chicken nugget in the prepared ice bucket, a sink that didn’t drain properly, and dirty bathroom floors rather spoiled that perk. My wife reminded me it was an adventure. We would have cancelled and gone somewhere else, but it was too late and I don’t like wasting money. We were sad because it felt like the place had been misrepresented, and it’s sad to see the surrounding hotels gone. We’re curious about the luxury suite they had available. They tried to make it sound like it was the only room left, at $270 a night. Hopefully this review helps visitors and the property improve the guest experience.
Primm’s text message system was lightning fast and answered my questions about the weather and pricing right away. I used it to book my reservation, and it’s available 24 hours a day. Call the hotel and they’ll explain how to access it. My room was cozy and quiet, with a clean bed and pillows. One light was out, but the extra lamps made up for it. I also appreciated the modern TV and room safe. Check-in and checkout each took only 5-10 minutes. My reservation was for 12/27/2025. There’s a restaurant with reasonably priced meals, around $11-$12 for a good breakfast or lunch. It’s open until 10 pm, with takeout available after that. There was live music and dancing the day I visited. The slots paid decently, and there were video poker machines with bets as low as 5 cents a hand, good if you want to relax or learn. They also had regular quarter machines and plenty of newer slots.
The Bonnie and Clyde car was the best thing in the hotel, and the location is really nice. My room was freezing. The blankets were very thin, and the AC didn’t warm the whole room. Breakfast costs extra and is expensive. You can hear everything through the paper-thin walls.
We were only passing through and didn’t stay at the hotel. Bonnie and Clyde’s vehicle inside the casino was the reason we stopped. Their display was very cool, especially for anyone into history, and worth a quick visit if you’re nearby. The casino looked dated, though it probably made quite an impression when it first opened. The gift shop was sparse, and what looked like a shopping area was closed off with ropes. I’d give the Bonnie and Clyde display a 5, and the hotel and casino condition a 3. I can’t rate the rooms, restaurants, or service.
An old reliable with a peaceful vibe and that great old-school feel. I can’t wait for Six Flags or a really good kid-friendly resort like GREAT WOLF LODGE to open up out here.
