Best Western Inn

The hotel’s reply to my review is nonsense. It’s written very nicely, so I doubt it came from anyone who actually works here. I’ve stayed here several times. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it has the basics. This week I was given a room with a broken heater and no towels. I spent an hour sitting in the office while Jasmine tried to fix it instead of moving me. I’d booked a queen, and they only had Kings left. I didn’t want to pay extra for a room I hadn’t booked. Jasmine asked, “you want me to bring you more blankets?” Seriously? When I told her to ask her manager, she kept saying she’d have to ask him. Yes, that’s your job. There was no wifi for the whole three day stay. When I told the male manager, he made me feel like I was imagining it, and it never got fixed. I could hear them working on it on the third day. On my last morning, before 9, a staff member stood outside my door with a leaf blower for five minutes. I finally poked my head out and asked him to stop, but the blowing continued. I went to the office, and when I told Jasmine the blower was right outside my door, she said, “well that’s a his job, so.” She needs training, and this attitude is going to cost the business money. I told her I’d report her comments to management. I waited in the parking lot for about 20 minutes, sorting my things and expecting a call from a manager about the staff and my stay. Nobody called. Instead, she called the police. The officers and I had a good laugh about it, and I moved my car about 30 yards away. There was one capable woman working evenings, but she can’t do everything. What a shame. I won’t be back.

The rooms were super clean. I’m a painter and carpenter, so I can recognize quality. Most of the staff seemed brand new, and it took a little while to get things sorted, but otherwise it was a decent stay.

The staff were quick to respond, and the value was surprisingly good. Our room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was included, with a waffle maker for making your own, plus fruit and a coffee machine available around the clock. There’s also a small gym with a couple of treadmills and a water dispenser. We couldn’t get a late checkout, and the room phone didn’t work during our stay.

I’ve never been a customer here, and I have nothing against the business itself. The police won’t let me panhandle at this spot, even though they let other homeless people do it. Since I can’t complain about the police, I’m leaving a bad review here because it’s close to where they banned me from panhandling.
