During the renovation, the team made the hotel feel like a home away from home, which I really appreciated. I stayed for three months and had a truly wonderful time. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and attentive throughout my stay. Thanks to General Manager Lakeisha for leading such a warm, guest-focused team. Charmaine, Elda, Sule, Christina, Nate, Maria, Vanessa, and Nyashia were all kind and helpful, and gave excellent service. I'd happily return and highly recommend the hotel.
General Manger Lakeicha Thompson has amazing customer service. She's very nice and understanding, and treats guests with respect and care. Nathanuel Bellemy is kind and understanding too, and is always helpful to guests at the hotel. He deserves the chance to move up in the company.
At least the room was clean, which was the one bright spot. We were a family of five and got just two plates, two cooking spoons, a quarter cup of fish soap, and one pan. Someone said they'd bring the rest of the dishes but never returned. We got four towels and two rags, and had to rely on our own supplies since there was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. The chipped tub sprayed water onto the floor from the shower. After we left, someone called who didn't even know we'd checked in, because the front desk hadn't checked us out. Fine for one night, maybe, but I wouldn't stay a whole week.
I complained about cigarette smoke and insects in my room, and the attempted extermination was early in the morning with no warning. I was still asleep when they wanted me to open the door. This was not a relaxing stay, and after a second bad experience at this hotel company, I won't stay with them again. The first was at Livingston, Hanover, where they charged me for a night I didn't stay, and I'm still challenging it. At the Prince location where I am now, my complaints have been ignored and disrespected. Evening staff are okay, but the night staff seem to sleep instead of helping guests. One young man didn't answer the phone, so I had to go downstairs for towels. They don't bring towels to your room, and room cleaning is only available if requested when you're staying two weeks. They also don't tell you that you have to take dirty towels to the front desk to get clean ones, or carry your own trash down the hall to the trash room. I got no welcome supplies for washing dishes, cooking, or eating. Breakfast was very limited: no fresh fruit, juice, or milk, just tea, coffee, hot chocolate, oatmeal packets, fruit bars, and two kinds of muffins. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or the Extended Stay franchise unless you first ask whether you'll have to handle all these things yourself.
The room smelled so awful I nearly threw up. The bed was dirty and stinky, with hair on the sheets. Noise came from everywhere: people and staff having too much fun overnight, unexplained knocking, a loud air conditioner that seemed decades old, and a fridge from the 80s that kept making random sounds. The place looked extremely dated. I was lucky to stay only one night; otherwise, I'd have moved hotels immediately. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in anywhere.
