Days Inn Provo

The bed was fairly comfortable, but the room was dark and dingy, smelled a little mildewy, and the sheets were thin and cheap. The remote was gross, so I had to wipe it down. I think I’d have checked the reviews first if I’d known. It was cheap, but barely worth the price, and I probably wouldn’t stay again. The maid’s cart was left right outside my door, I believe all night. The dilapidated pool out front is a wreck and an eyesore. There are two huge oversized containers in the back taking up parking spaces, also an eyesore.

When we got to our room after checking in, someone was asleep in the bed and had their belongings spread around the room. I felt unsafe, and the service desk staff were very rude when I said so. I don’t want to stay somewhere where a random person can get into my room or where someone else might be assigned to it. They first refused to refund me, then agreed once I reached my premium Expedia representative. The area felt sketchy, the staff were rude, and I felt unsafe.

The bathroom was foul. It reeked of mildew, the shower curtain was orange with mildew, long black hairs were all over the walls, there were skid marks in the toilet, and orange drippy stuff was on the walls by the sink. My skin was crawling, and I was genuinely afraid of catching lice. My daughters wanted to sleep in the car. The area felt completely sketchy, and the room was disgusting. Days inn used to at least have a reputation for being clean. It was affordable, but absolutely not worth it. Hard pass.

The staff were lovely and really helpful, and housekeeping did a great job. The room was a little dated, but well kept, clean, and quite homely. I’d read some of the other reviews and got skeptical, but that wasn’t the experience I had at Days Inn this week. The gap between the bed and the wall, where the sockets are, was the only thing I found fault with, and it wasn’t a major concern. As a Brit, this was my first motel in the US. Thanks, Days Inn, for a wonderful stay. Here’s to another 18 days with you.
