The hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we walked into the beautiful Downen house. It has lovely antique decor and a fascinating history, and breakfast was delicious. Five stars doesn't feel like enough; I'd give it a 10. If you're deciding where to stay in Pueblo, you won't regret choosing Downen.

Breakfast was included, and we met another guest. We started with fruit and yogurt, then had an egg, ham, and veggie quiche that was so tender it didn't need sauce. My husband surprised me with a night at Dowen House because I'd always wanted to try a bed and breakfast. From the outside it's one of the larger historic homes in this area of Pueblo Colorado, with a beautiful property and sitting porch. I liked that there's a side door with a programmable lock, so you can come and go whenever you like. The owners were very nice, gave us a little tour, and shared some of the house's history. I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names. Inside, the foyer has a wood staircase, a little table with a guest book, and postcards. Our second-floor room didn't have a TV, but we could use the TV in the main living room downstairs. There was also a fireplace and bar for a nightcap. The room had its own bathroom, a queen bed, and a mini fridge stocked with beer, wine, and water. Near the dining room there was another drinks and snacks station with water, snacks, and soda. A small sunroom opened off the dining room. The home's history showed in every nook and cranny, from the old wood bookcases to a vintage high chair and more. It was a good enough experience to put back on the bucket list so we can do it all again.

Homebrewed mead and a dog named Pumba made the place feel especially welcoming. The hosts were so kind and accommodating, and their home was the definition of cozy. After a stressful trip, I was glad I chose to stay here and was able to relax again as soon as I walked through the door.

My top-floor room was cozy and quiet, and there was plenty of space around the house to sit and relax. Scott and Tamara keep the Downen house in good shape and make the stay pleasant, with a full breakfast each morning and respect for your privacy. The home has lots of charm and character. There's a hot tub, a mini fridge stocked with beer, wine, and water, and a full bar in the living room. I'd choose this private, different kind of stay over a hotel. You won't be disappointed.

Scott and Tamara are gracious hosts, and they shared the history of the house and the area. The home is in excellent condition, with clean, bright rooms and an amazing breakfast. We had an incredible stay at this marvelous B&B in a wonderful location. I highly recommend the Downen Bed & Breakfast when you're in the Pueblo, CO area! J & GJ
