Santa Fe Inn Pueblo

We'd reserved and already paid for a room, but when we arrived nobody was there to give us a key. We called the numbers we had, but no one answered. We waited half an hour.

They said we hadn't paid for the room. When I asked one of the guys if we could talk, he yelled and swore at us, then kicked us out. Meanwhile, three rooms down, we saw people smoking crack with foil in their room, but we were the ones who got kicked out.

I paid $70 for this? The service was bad, there was no heat, and it looked like almost nothing had been cleaned between guests. The counters weren't wiped, the floor hadn't been swept, and the sheets were stained and full of crumbs, like they hadn't been changed. There were crumbs and dead bugs under the bed too, and sticky spots on the floor. It looked as if the only upkeep for weeks had been making the bed. I could hear and smell signs of rats. You'd be better off sleeping in your car, or going to the super 8. Trust me, it's better.

The room was clean and we didn't see any bugs. The beds were decent, and my daughter and I both slept okay. The air conditioning was out, but they brought in a portable unit and there was a box fan, so the room stayed cool. The portable unit's vent left a gap under the blinds where people could see in, so we put towels at the bottom of the window. The TV seemed small for the room, but we weren't there to watch it. The pool had no water, though that didn't bother us. We did find it odd that pets weren't allowed when three little dogs in the office barked during check-in. After reading other reviews, I was afraid we'd have a bad stay, but it wasn't bad.
