Residence Inn Pullman

The room was roomy, with a kitchenette and king bed. The mattress had medium firmness and was comfortable. Breakfast went beyond the usual, with scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage depending on the day, cereal, waffles, and baked goods. I appreciated the herbal tea choices and the Olympics on TV. We had a very nice stay, and the staff were friendly.

The pool was really nice, and the water seemed clean. The downstairs waiting area is cool and inviting, and the bartender was very nice. The staff were kind and helpful, but cleanliness felt a bit lacking. Our room had a hair in the sink, smudges on the dishwasher, food residue that was mostly wiped off, and coffee drips near the sink. There was a screw on the floor beside the pool bathroom garbage can, and the stainless steel can looked like it hadn't been wiped in a while. I also spotted one tiny silverfish or some kind of small bug in our room. Nothing was exceptionally dirty, but the place felt a little neglected. There were awful smells outside the elevator on both the first and second floors several times. The coffee tasted horrible, the paper-like bacon and sausage were just okay, and the eggs were bad, like reconstituted eggs with nothing done to improve them. I wouldn't come back, though I wouldn't tell people to avoid it. They need to step up the cleaning and energy level.

The room had plenty of space for our family of five, and the staff were so kind. Kids and adults can both enjoy the pool. There's also a basketball court and an outdoor barbecue area with a fire for the winter months. If you're visiting WSU, this location is a must.

I've spent roughly 40 nights here over the past couple of months for work and have no complaints. The rooms are nice, the staff are great, and dogs are allowed. Thanks, Marriott residence inn, in Pullman!
