The pool area was peaceful and clean, with lots of chairs, and there was plenty of parking. The staff were friendly too. Our room was large and equipped, though the decor felt retro. The beach and park across the street are fenced off, so you can't get to them.

It's in a convenient spot for getting around, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was dated, though. The place was clean apart from some dirty coffee cups and glasses, so we washed what we used. Being pet friendly was a big plus, and it was quiet, so I'd return for the convenience. The pool is a nice size and warm, but the pool area could use some care.

We stay here pretty often because the staff are great and so friendly. The units are spacious, with full-size kitchens that are well stocked, and each room has a balcony overlooking the pool. It's also very pet friendly. The pool is huge, and the hot tub and relaxing pool area are great. There's a nice spot for barbecuing too.

We left and called RCI for help. They listened to how frightened I was and stayed on the phone while we drove to a well-lit main road. Within minutes they found us a lovely place five minutes away, bright and with plenty of people around. Thank God, and kudos to RCI's helpful customer service team for acting so quickly. Sunseekers resort five minutes away is a dream vacation compared with Nightmare in Port Charlotte Bay resort. I can't believe RCI has this place listed. This was a horrible nightmare. The resort wasn't what it looked like, and I found the reviews deceitful. Andrea was rude, and no one seemed to be there. The office closes at 4:30, supposedly because there are no guests staying there. The place was disgusting and dirty, smelled like a sewer, and had bugs. Furniture was dated, the lights were dim, and the outdoor walkway to our second-floor room leaked. There was a safe on the wall with our key and room number, which felt very sketchy. I called Andrea because there were no cars in the small, dim parking area and asked where the guests were. She said they were all out for the evening. Really, everyone at 10 p.m.?
