Hampton Inn Raleigh-Capital Blvd. North

The staff were fantastic, especially José, who was warm, kind, and very welcoming. Any hotel would be lucky to have him. The property itself wasn’t great, though I’ll give them credit for getting renovations started. They’re badly needed, including work on the parking lot cameras.

The staff were pleasant and answered our questions, and the location was handy for restaurants and strip malls. The general manager, Marlen, later reached out with an apology and had already issued a refund. He handled it really well, and I’ll keep my word and stay again once the renovations are finished. Customer service was top tier. I travel a lot and am a Hilton Honors member, but the site rated this place way higher than it deserved. We paid $184 including tax for one of the worst rooms I’ve had. There was a construction sign saying work would run from February through December 2025, but we were on the second floor. The room was very dated for the price. The walls looked like they hadn’t been painted in at least 7-10 years, there was a popcorn ceiling, and the decor was old. The bathroom door had water marks and a warped bottom, like the bathroom had flooded at some point. It seemed like a family business.

The stay was alright. Staff were really nice, and the room was fine except for a leaky faucet. Breakfast was edible, though nothing special. Would I come back? Sure. Would I be excited about it? Nah.

For work, I stay at different Hampton Inn locations, and this is a good place to stay. Check-in is quick and easy, breakfast is ready in the morning, and the room and bathroom were clean and nice.
