TownePlace Suites by Marriott Ontario Airport

Everything else was great, though the elevator closest to the lobby was a little slow during my stay. The facility was very clean, the pool area was nice, and all the staff were friendly. There are plenty of nearby places to eat: Jersey Mike's, Panda Express, and Baskin Robins are just across the parking lot, while Famous Dave's BBQ, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster are within walking distance. I didn’t see people outside who were high or drunk, or anyone sleeping on the sidewalks.

The manager extended my reservation and charged my card, but a few days later I got a call saying I had to check out. I went to the front desk and explained what had happened, but the manager wouldn’t come out to speak with me. The desk staff said I had to leave or move to a downgraded room because a large group was coming. I showed them that my card had already been charged, but they said it didn’t matter. After going back and forth, I was able to stay in the room I’d paid for. The next day, the same thing happened again. Apparently the manager and front desk workers don’t know how to extend reservations. I was here for a few weeks for work and needed to extend by one week. The service was unbelievably terrible. There are a lot of good hotels in the area. Do not stay here, especially if you’re traveling for work or might need to extend your stay.

I planned to stay a week for work but checked out early. The area felt concerning: there’s a liquor store next door, and questionable people and urban campers seemed to frequent the area, including outside the hotel. I never saw a security guard during my stay. At check-in, the employee asked if the first floor was okay. I asked about the second or third floors and was told nothing else was available because the hotel was sold out, though it was obviously fairly empty. She should have checked whether another room was available before asking about the first floor. Breakfast was okay, but the bread was stale. The bagels were wrapped in plastic, yet stale too. I requested no housekeeping at check-in and in the app, and the front desk employee told me there wouldn’t be service. But when I returned Thursday, someone had clearly entered my room: some towels had been replaced and the kitchen sink wiped down. The other dirty towels were still there, and the bathtub hadn’t been cleaned. I messaged the hotel several times and got no response. I checked out the next morning. The manager heard why at checkout but didn’t apologize or do anything, then replied to my message later that afternoon. I’d strongly recommend the other Marriot in the area. This one doesn’t seem to be managed very well.

Clean rooms and hotel, with a fresh feel and a convenient location near a mall with plenty of food options and the Ontario International airport. The front desk staff were professional and helpful, which feels rare at many Marriott locations lately.
