Hotel Centro Sonoma Wine Country Tapestry Hilton

The evening bar was a nice extra, with good food and drinks and smiling faces every time. Breakfast was delicious, too. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the whole place felt spacious and inviting, from the lobby to the rooms. I’ve stayed at other hotels in the area, but this one stands out for how clean it is. The rooms are gorgeous and feel furnished like a home. I’ll always stay here when I visit Sonoma.

The room was fine, like a typical Hilton, though this didn’t feel much different from most three-star hotels despite Google calling it four-star. There’s a standing shower but no tub, and the shower head wasn’t fancy, though it worked. The entry switch only turns on the light by the door, so you have to switch on each lamp separately to get the rest of the lights. The parking costs $9, but the lot didn’t seem protected, monitored, or covered. At around $110 a night, I’d say it’s probably worth it.

Our room was clean and we had no issues. It’s a really pretty Hilton, and the stay was nice. Just a heads-up, breakfast isn’t complimentary. I checked in and picked my room digitally through the Hilton app for the first time, which was pretty straightforward. If you’re driving, you do need to get a parking pass from the front desk.

Looks nice from outside, and the room seemed presentable at first. Then the problems started. The toilet was backed up, apparently from the previous guest, and the plumbing wasn’t great, though the water pressure was okay. The towels looked refolded and didn’t seem clean. I couldn’t get these issues resolved during my overnight stay. Both the day and overnight staff were very unhelpful, as if asking the front desk a question was an inconvenience. When I asked about late checkout, the night staff were rude and inattentive, apparently more interested in scrolling on a phone than dealing with a guest concern. That’s not what I expect from a Hilton. This was my first stay and it’ll be my last. Motel 6 in disguise.
