The Vue

A really nice room in the middle of Seward, with much of town an easy walk away. Great place to stay.

I was worried when we pulled into the lot, but the unit surprised me once we opened the door. It was very clean and had been updated recently. The towels and bedding smelled fresh without a heavy perfume scent, and the bathroom had the basics, even a hairdryer for guests. The place is right on the main road, with downtown Seward's shops and restaurants an easy walk away.

I loved the clean, modern unit. It had a quaint feel, somewhere between a B&B and a hotel, and the location was great for restaurants, cafes, shops, and tourist spots. Parking is free if you drive. The arrival instructions kept coming by email, but none of them worked. I was texting to ask for help when someone showed up and let us in, along with other guests. It wasn't a huge deal, but standing in the rain after being told how to get in was frustrating. Checkout day was more of a problem. I asked by text whether stop 9 on the free shuttle was the best way to get to the cruise ships. They told me the shuttle runs every half hour, which didn't answer what I asked. I took my bags to the stop anyway, but three shuttles came by full. I couldn't find an Uber or Lyft, and no taxi companies answered. When I texted Trailhead for other options, they suggested checking Uber or Lyft. I ended up walking more than a mile in the rain to the cruise ship with my backpack and two suitcases. I know Trailhead doesn't operate the shuttle, taxis, or rideshare services. Still, they could consider offering some kind of transportation for guests. It wouldn't have to be free. I'd gladly have paid $20 or more to avoid hauling my bags that distance in the rain.

Clean, tidy, and accommodating, and everything went smoothly. I had a great stay and loved the family who runs it. 10/10. I'd definitely recommend it and stay again myself.
