The reason for my visit was an art show at the resort, hosted by Park West Galleries and featuring one of my favorite artists, Michael Godard. His paintings are easy to recognize because olives appear in most of them, and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend stay. The immaculate grounds are beautifully maintained, with plants and flowers throughout. At night, fire fountains and tiki torches create a calm, peaceful atmosphere. There’s a small golf course, a 24-hour fitness center, and a spa, along with six restaurants and four pools. Guests have plenty of room to relax and lots of food choices, from fine dining and bar food to grab-and-go. I tried fish tacos, Baja Salad, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, salmon with mushrooms, and a side salad. Everything was delicious and full of flavor, and the portions were generous. I plan to return.

We came from Los Angeles for a quick weekend and ended up having an incredibly relaxing three-night stay. The only thing I’d change is staying longer next time. The staff were gracious and professional throughout, housekeeping was completely on point, the meals were delicious and nicely presented, and the grounds and amenities were well kept. We did some Christmas shopping and had sushi at the small outdoor mall across the street. We don’t golf, but the water features on the course drew lots of waterfowl, including beautiful cranes, ducks, and geese. I’d never tried a lazy river before, and by my third lap I got the appeal, lol. We don’t have kids, so when it started filling up we switched to the adults-only pool. I have inflammatory arthritis, and the jacuzzi at the 18+ pool felt wonderful.

The grounds are large, clean, and nicely located. I didn’t get a chance to use the pools or other amenities, and the room was clean but dated and nothing special. The valet staff and the people opening doors at the resort entrance were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The front desk service was mediocre on several occasions. I’d choose somewhere else next time I’m in the desert.

After a long day of travel, Danielle made check-in effortless. She was welcoming, kind, helpful, and full of useful information, including some great local spots to check out. We love Danielle. She deserves a raise, a day off, or both!

We spent five days here between Christmas and New Year, with comfortable weather from 68 to 74 each day. It’s a resort aimed at families with kids, with a pool and maybe a chance to golf. The place has the feel of a converted motel, where you drive around and reach your room from outside. The newly remodeled restaurant was very good, but for other lunch or dinner options you had to leave the property. The poolside menu wasn’t very good, though the staff were great. There isn’t much sightseeing nearby. For the price, roaches, location, and amenities, it wasn’t the value I’d expect.
