The Rushmore Hotel & Suites, BW Premier Collection

The staff were great, and I'd stay here again. I've only tried one other BW Premier, and the two places were very different. This one had an excellent lobby and good elevators, but there was no mini-fridge or microwave in the room. I know those aren't essential, though I see them at many places I travel. The bed and pillows were comfortable, but the pleather on the headboard was flaking where it had been picked at.

My parents were here with a group tour of the parks, and the staff were incredibly kind. For my dad's birthday, our family wanted to arrange a surprise, and Kenny, the director of sales, kindly helped us get a cake. Everyone we dealt with was so helpful, from the Baker to Laurie at the Safeway on Mountain view Road and Tiffany, the Instacart driver. My dad was delighted, and we were grateful to all of them for helping make it happen.

Downtown Rapid City is right outside, with the Journey Museum and Museum of Geology about a 20-30 minute walk away. Mount Rushmore would be roughly a 30-minute drive, though I didn't go. The airport shuttle cost $10 one way when I visited in November 2025. At the time, this was the most affordable place I found in town, even below Airbnb options, and it could suit you if you don't need a full kitchen. I spent two nights in a room with two queen beds. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower had very hot water. I didn't take a bath. There's a TV and coffee maker, but no microwave or mini-fridge, with plenty of restaurants nearby. You can hear sounds from the corridor easily, though the other guests were mostly quiet and noise didn't bother me during my stay.

The location made it easy to walk around town, and the room was clean and reasonably comfortable, though the finish looked rough in places, with visible patching and nails. We were on the eighth floor, where trains sounded their horns around bedtime, construction nearby brought reversing trucks every few minutes in the morning, and a steady noise seemed to come from the elevator machinery. The room could use better sound insulation. We called for the airport shuttle and it arrived within minutes. The front desk was polite once we got through, but very busy, and I think they need more staff. I can't recommend the hotel's breakfast or food, so we ate elsewhere.
