1st Choice Inn Rawlins

Breakfast runs from 6 to 9 in the morning. The room was roomy and had a desk, chairs, a mini fridge, and a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Those block walls kept things quiet overnight, and everything was clean. I was very happy with the place.

The continental breakfast was pretty good, but I won't be coming back. The room itself was clean, though the mattress was lumpy, the vanity light didn't work, and the TV was broken. The toilet was extremely small and low to the floor, like a child's, and the staff told me every room has the same size one. I looked into the Americans with Disabilities Act afterward and understood it to say hotels and motels should have at least one room with a larger bathroom and better facilities for disabled guests. The tub also had no grippers, so it seemed very easy to slip and fall. The standards here felt very low.

Even with a full parking lot, the rooms were so well insulated I never heard anyone else. The place was quiet, including the AC, and both the room and its bedding and towels were clean. Staff were friendly and clearly worked hard. I was doubtful because of the low price, but ended up much more impressed than I expected. They deserve five stars every day!

The staff were consistently kind and attentive, and my bed was really comfortable. The rooms are spacious, too. For the price, this is a wonderful hotel and a great value if you're passing through or working nearby for a few days.
