Comfort Suites Redding - Shasta Lake

For a road stop, the location is handy, and having luggage carts helped. But at this price, I can’t recommend it. The room was roomy but didn’t feel clean: hair was coming out of the sink grout, and our dog kept licking spots off the carpet and baseboards. The shower curtain was ragged and too short, so water got all over the place. The king bed had what seemed like a queen blanket, awkward for two people. I could hear the neighboring TVs, and while trying to fall asleep I kept seeing a small bright green ceiling light flash once a second. Relaxing, sure.

Everyone was welcoming, and our room was comfortable. Breakfast was especially nice: Melissa took great care of it, kept everything clean, and there was a good range of food for everyone. We had a pleasant stay at this Comfort Inn. I didn’t use the pool.

The bathroom door swings shut on its own, so watch your fingers, especially if there are little ones around, or keep it propped open. Aside from that, I really liked the pillows and bedding. Our room felt newer, the staff were friendly, and the hotel stayed quiet despite being right by the interstate, even though we were in an end room beside the freeway. It’s just off the freeway, with shops and restaurants about a 5-10 minute drive away. There’s an elevator serving all three floors. I’d stay here again.

The staff were kind, but the hotel wasn’t clean, and our room smelled of pet urine. We were here for a soccer tournament at the end of October and left after one night instead of staying a second. Once we got home, I found a bed bug in my daughter’s soccer bag. I feel certain we picked it up at the hotel.
