Quality Inn Redding near I-5

The staff were lovely, but the room badly needs a deep clean. There were dusty headboard fingerprints, cobwebs, hair in the shower, and a slippery floor. We checked out after just one night. If you're shooting a horror movie, it's five stars. Otherwise, bring disinfectant and shoes with good grip, or stay somewhere else.

The third floor has no exterior security door, and the walls are so thin you can hear people talking and coughing. Water from the ice machine had flooded the area, with no sign or cones, so you didn't know until you were standing in it. The room coffee was awful, so bring your own. Breakfast wasn't the worst, and the coffee in the breakfast lobby was much better. There are only standard outlets in the room, no USB ports.

The Wi-Fi was nearly unusable, went out around 7 p.m., and was still down when I checked out at 7:30 the next morning. I called the front desk four times that evening and got no answer. At checkout I raised it, and was asked what they were supposed to do. I expected them to call Spectrum and get it fixed. The room smelled of disinfectant, so I had to open the windows. It also looked worn, with flooring cracks and obvious wall patches. The TV uses Spectrum, but the channel guide was confusing and its listings didn't match the channels. The neighborhood didn't seem great either.

The curtains smelled like cigarettes even though the room was marked non-smoking, and the bathroom had no towel racks, which became a nuisance. The room felt old, the internet was poor, and I didn't feel the stay was worth the price. The staff were friendly and the location was good, but that wasn't enough to make me want to return with so many other choices around.
