The newly renovated rooms look great, but poor housekeeping brought down our three-night visit while we explored Burney Falls and the Mt. Shasta area. The policy is to refresh the room only once during a stay that length. I understood that and specifically asked the front desk to change our linens during that scheduled visit. They weren't replaced, and it barely seemed like anyone had come in: the dining table was still dirty, the bed hadn't been made, and the pillows were left scattered. It looked as though our room had been skipped. It's a shame, because the building updates are nice. Ignoring a basic request and missing the scheduled service made the stay disappointing. I wouldn't return until they sort out these service problems.

I planned to book a room, but my visit to the front desk before making a reservation put me off. I was in town and wanted to compare the King Studio with the 1 bedroom King Suite. Devin, the receptionist, seemed irritated as soon as I asked to see them. She rattled off a lot of details very quickly, then took me down the hall to view one type. I understand the other wasn't available because it was booked. Back at the desk, though, she was dismissive and impatient when I asked a few questions about it. I also asked how the total price for the stay differed between the two room types. Devin said her computer didn't show that. When I offered to add up the nightly amounts myself, she looked frustrated, wrote several numbers on paper, and slid it over, saying a line was forming and I'd have to work it out. There was one person behind me. Each sheet had three different amounts, and when I asked which one to use, she said I could pick the middle figure. I left confused and feeling brushed off. Maybe she was having a bad day, but the interaction was so strange and the service so poor that I won't book there now, even though I had wanted to. If a manager sees this, please consider giving Devin customer service training and reviewing the front desk camera footage and audio, if available. This happened around 4pm on May 18th. I was wearing a black shirt and black hat.

Everyone on staff has been incredible and made this a really worthwhile extended stay. The breakfast is good, with a nice range of choices, and I like that they're renovating the rooms. Looking forward to coming back, and I'd highly recommend this location. Devan is one of the best associates, maybe the best, ever!

The room itself was nice, but several things disappeared: a pair of earbuds, over-ear headphones, half a bottle of new medicine I'd just picked up at the pharmacy, and my Ray-Bans. The manager brushed me off instead of investigating. Later, when I tried to book again and they had a room available, he refused my reservation because I'd filed a claim with Marriott's corporate offices. I don't believe all those belongings could vanish by accident. They didn't grow legs and walk away. Punishing someone after their things go missing by taking adverse action isn't ethical or moral.
