Fairfield has made some welcome changes since taking over in late 2024: no more forced Comcast subscription, a better package room access and notification system, and amenity renovations in the works. Noise was acceptable, and utilities are submetered. I lived here four years under both Equity Residential and Fairfield. The older units still show their age, with original 2008 appliances and cheap flooring, largely due to Equity's neglect. Some renovated units are being listed alongside unrenovated ones, so I'd wait for a renovated unit. Package theft continues despite the new system, exterior doors are often unsecured, and fire alarms go off too often. My unit had no AC, though there were AC ports in both bedrooms. The breaker setup was cheap, with both rooms on one 15-amp breaker, so running an AC and a power-hungry computer in the other room would regularly trip it. I'm cautiously optimistic about where the place is headed, but expectations should stay measured for now.
