Best Budget Inn

I appreciated how nice and helpful the staff were. We arrived Friday night and were first put in a room with mold. The smell was awful, I couldn't sleep, and my son got a stuffy nose and head cold. We both had headaches, and with my health issues it was a bad situation. They moved us to another room that had less smell and visible mold, and the beds were comfortable. The location was okay, about a block from 711 and across from Dollar General, with Safeway and other stores a few blocks away.

It's an older, cute hotel, and the people are really friendly. My room smelled of nagchampa incense, my absolute favorite, and I loved the peaceful feel of the place. It's on the road, but I'd stay again.

My daughter and I slept really well every night. The bed was very comfortable, and despite taking her to the beach each day, I had no sand in the bed. They vacuumed daily, which I appreciated. The place does pick up dirt easily, especially sand and marks on the ceramic tile, so the regular cleaning was noticeable. Still, the bathroom needed more attention: the toilet bowl exterior needed cleaning, there was a hairpin in the shower, and I had to use my own sanitizing wipes. I wasn't sure at first about the cleanliness or the reviews, and I was disappointed there wasn't a bathtub for my 4-year-old. I don't know if I could have requested one. I wish the front window had a privacy blind, since a bumped curtain could open toward the line of cars outside, and it would help darken the room at night. There's no AC, but a fan is provided and the windows open for air. Once I opened the bathroom window I stayed comfortably cool all week, and I didn't notice nighttime noise with it open. The owners and their family, who help run the place, were so sweet and attentive. When my tire started getting low, they offered to help me find somewhere to take the car. I also had to come back after leaving because I'd forgotten which days I'd reserved, retrieve my things, and add an extra night. They were kind about it, with no attitude or rudeness. For a calm, down-to-earth, simple place with a comfy bed and a shower, it was really good.

Family-run, and the sweetest people I've ever met. The folks running this place were a beacon of light in the dark. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
