We’ve rented in this neighborhood for 15 years, often finding better properties for much less, and haven’t had problems before. This house cost $8k and was advertised as having six bedrooms, but the supposed “6th bedroom” is an office only 66 inches wide. The listing claims it fits a king sized aero mattress, although a standard king bed is 76 inches wide. It’s the only room not shown in the listing photos. When we complained, the Lingo agent said many other renters had raised the same issue, but the listing still hadn’t been rewritten. The stated occupancy is 12, but under Delaware housing law the office can only fit one, so official occupancy is 11. The house is listed as no pet, yet there was animal hair on all the furniture. Jack Lingo said, “Yea, I noted the same in my final inspection,” but nothing was done. My son has severe allergies and can’t sit on the furniture in the main family room. After 15 minutes there, his eyes and face swell and he starts sneezing, even if he was fine before sitting down. His doctor confirmed it’s an allergic attack, and we know he’s highly allergic to animal hair. See photo of his face. The allergies leave him wiped out and feeling awful, so he can’t enjoy his days. We notified Lingo and the owner about these issues, but nothing was done. We asked for a refund for the cost of one bedroom and they weren’t willing.
