I actually got a decent night's sleep, even as someone who struggles with insomnia. The train tracks are right beside the hotel, so they provide earplugs. There's no crossing nearby, which means the trains don't need to sound their horns. My room was clean, breakfast was generous, and the warm pool area had lots of plants and felt nice.

The pool and jacuzzi were the best parts, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The hotel did what I needed, but I probably wouldn't choose it again if I had another option. The pool door never shuts, leaving the place so humid it feels like a sauna. My room smelled damp, maybe even moldy, and the mattress and bedding seemed really old. It looked like they were remodeling room by room, but I was in one of the older ones. The whole place felt worn, beat up, and dirty.

We chose this hotel for a trip to the aquarium because it was close to Springfield. The rooms were clean and the pool area was nice. The train tracks behind the hotel are busy, so ask for a room at the front or bring earplugs. They don't sound the whistle, but the rumbling can still wake you. Breakfast was a good size, though at 6 a.m. the biscuits, gravy, eggs, and sausage were cold from the refrigerator. It would've helped if the man working had let us know he'd just put the food out and it needed warming. When we came back around 8 the next morning, other guests were eating and the food seemed hot. After the day before, we stuck with cereal and yogurt.

The rest of the room was nice, so I gave the hotel a 2 instead of the 1 I was considering. We booked a king suite for the space and the number of people in my group. The king bed was fine, but the pullout couch was awful: its springs stuck out, making it unsafe, and there was no bedding for it. The night worker said there were no other rooms and that bedding for the sofa wasn't provided. They had rollaway beds, but said one would cost an extra $10 because that's their policy, even though the sofa bed couldn't be used. I asked for a manager, but the worker couldn't reach one by phone and said I'd have to talk to one in the morning. She let us use a rollaway that night without charging us. It was small but comfortable. The morning staff member said nobody had told her about the problem, and she also didn't charge for the rollaway. Nothing else was offered to make up for it. We usually like Wyndham hotels for the staff and cleanliness, but this stay was a real disappointment. I won't stay at this hotel again.
