Hampton Inn Charlotte - University Place

Frenchy works nights and may miss out on recognition while everybody’s sleeping, LOL, so I want to give her a shout-out. We had a problem with our room, and she found a quick, easy solution. Her commitment to helping guests is above par. Thank you, Frenchy!

The people here were so kind, and whenever I asked for something, they brought it. I felt comfortable and well looked after, and the service was really good. I had a great time and give them five stars. Keep up the good work. Peace, love, and happiness, God bless.

The staff made this a nice place to stay. They were welcoming and helpful, even when they seemed stressed or were having a rough day, and they never let that show to guests. The location also worked well for getting to the places I needed to go. The room could use some attention. The mattress was lumpy and squeaked, the A/C wouldn't hold the temperature I set, and the carpet, walls, and windows need a little TLC. The coffee maker was okay. I thought it was a good stay, though the price felt high to me.

Room 603 was clean, but a lot of things made the stay rough. The heating and A/C unit rattled loudly, especially as it shut off, and kept waking us through the night. The bed also creaked whenever we moved. One wall light sat at about a 45 degree angle, and the bathroom light was partly hanging down over the left side of the mirror. The tub and sink water only got warm, and there was something in the hair dryer’s intake grille that I didn't want to get close enough to identify. The elevator looked worn out, and adhesive was still stuck to its door where the Hampton sign had been removed. Definitely don't lean on it. In the lobby, the desk clerk was kind and attentive, though it was surprising to see them dressed in a hoodie and sweats. I'm an Honors member and have stayed at plenty of Hilton hotels. This room at this hotel was among the worst I've had. It wasn't what we expected from a Hilton property; the Hampton Inn felt tired and worn.
