Super 8 by Wyndham Richardson Dallas

Most of the front desk staff are really, really nice, both daytime and nighttime. The manager, an older guy, is friendly too, and they’re welcoming people. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with other hotels in the Dallas area, so I keep telling people to come here and talk to the staff for themselves. The daytime front desk guy who was working after 11 AM today was really nice. I’ve forgotten which front desk employee it was, but I’m grateful to them and the manager for being so nice during the four weeks before I left. A friend of mine says the same thing.

The staff were friendly, and there were no bed bugs. But the free breakfast is such a joke that calling it free breakfast almost feels like a lie.

At about 1 a.m., the man at the desk made me very uncomfortable. He asked lots of questions about why I was there and offered to “keep me company” once check-in was done. I wish I’d asked for a refund then. I’d seen pictures of the interior on Google and thought the hotel looked okay, but the room had holes in the walls, cigarette burns on the bedsheets, and a bathroom door falling apart. I tried to sleep for about two hours and couldn’t. I decided I’d probably be safer driving home to Texarcana at 3 a.m. through thunderstorms and tornadoes than staying. I didn’t ask for my money back because I didn’t want to speak to the desk guy again, so the whole thing cost me upwards of $80. I had to check in at 1 a.m. because of extenuating circumstances. Do not stay here, especially at that hour.

The sink should work properly without overflowing, and the bathtub should be free of hair from previous guests. At the rental rate I paid, comparable to chains like Marriott or Hilton, I expected that level of cleanliness. Room cleanliness needs serious attention, and the poor management is unacceptable. Please address these problems promptly and meet the standards guests expect.
