Richland Riverfront Hotel and Conference Center, Ascend Hotel Collection

We only stayed one night, and I wish we’d had longer to enjoy Richland. The river walk is right nearby, and the pool was nice. Our king suite was much cleaner and more comfortable than I expected for the price. There are good extras too, including a game room with xboxes, a store, a pleasant outdoor patio, and a nice continental breakfast. We’d be happy to come back.

This time I was put upstairs, about 10 stairs up, and had to park a long way from the room. With arthritic knees, neuropathy, and a lot of travel things to unload, that was very difficult. I’d asked for a downstairs room. They’d accommodated me on every previous stay, so I don’t know why they couldn’t this time.

I’m still waiting to hear back, and after this I definitely wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve called on three different days trying to get a refund for an extra charge they made because “children” were shopping. The front desk woman assumed they were in my room, but I DON’T HAVE CHILDREN! Susan answered the last two calls. Yesterday she said her manager would call me, but no one did. When I asked for the manager today, she said the manager was on vacation. Terrible customer service.

The walking and biking path runs for over 15 miles along a beautiful stretch of riverfront, and they have bikes to borrow for a couple hours or rent for longer. The pool was open, clean, and nice. Our suite was comfortable and clean, and the staff were helpful. The continental breakfast was GOOD, and there’s a great restaurant in the building too. There was an event in the ballroom and the hotel was packed. I highly recommend it.
