Comfort Inn Lexington I-75

My wife and daughters stayed in Lexington for a few days, and this hotel right off the highway seemed like a perfect fit. It turned out to be filthy. The carpets were dirty, housekeeping never showed up, and the first floor smelled of marijuana and cigarettes. I brought it all to management, which was disgusting enough in its own right. I wasn't going to review, but then I saw an unauthorized charge on my debit card. ChoiceHotels told me the manager said housekeeping reported we left the room dirty. I'll dispute it with my bank. After reading the other reviews, I'd advise staying far away.

Right off I75, the location was great, but the room was old and had carpet stains, even though it was clean. Flushing the toilet made a loud noise that went on for ages. Breakfast wasn't good: the eggs tasted fake, though the biscuit was good, and I ended up having cereal. The coffee was lukewarm and tasted bad.

UPDATE: After I posted a negative review, the owner charged my card fraudulently. I'll be contacting the Attorney General about this alleged fraudulent practice. I usually don't write bad reviews, but people should know how guests are treated here. The manager asked for a $100 deposit and initially insisted it had to be cash. When I said I didn't have cash, he suddenly accepted a card hold instead. I checked out the next morning with nothing but my purse, then he called accusing me of taking pillows. The claim changed to sheets, and later he said towels were missing and threatened a $250 charge. The accusations made me so uncomfortable that I called the police to review the situation and surveillance footage. The manager wouldn't cooperate and said the cameras “wouldn’t be able to tell.” In the end, he returned my deposit anyway, despite all the claims. Being accused of stealing hotel linens was humiliating and unprofessional. If I can pay for a hotel, I can afford my own towels and sheets. It felt like he was making up new stories to hold onto my deposit. The hotel was already disappointing, and management made the experience much worse. I'd strongly suggest staying somewhere else if you expect professionalism and respect. I'll be contacting corporate tomorrow morning.

We had to wait more than an hour because our room wasn't clean and ready when we got there. The hallways reeked of cigarettes and weed, and even a nonsmoking room felt smoky. Our room smelled like dirty bodies, so we went to a gas station to buy spray. The door was hard to lock too, we had to lift it for the barrel to line up. There was also trash left in the tub.
