The staff were the best part, and the unit looked clean when I first checked it out. I gave the room condition 4/5 because it’s styled like the late 1990s and is showing its age. Motel 6 needs to remodel this great location. The WiFi didn’t work during my three-day stay. On multiple devices I got two speed tests under 1m a sec and one random result of 1.25, so I switched to my hotspot.
I planned a nine-day stay and left on day seven. They said my room had to be cleaned during the visit. On cleaning day, I moved my personal things but left my suitcase and a pillow with food stuff on a table. All they did was swap the towels. The trash was left by the fridge, no vacuuming or fresh sheets, and no surfaces were wiped. There was no toilet paper, and they left two soaps on the counter. I work until 7, got back at 8pm, and crashed. When I woke up, nothing had been done. I won’t give money to a place that can’t do basic housekeeping for a longer stay. The staff infighting is another problem. Watching employees fight among themselves doesn’t look good. The owner needs to pay attention to this place. I stayed here in December for a quick three-day trip, but I have two more trips and won’t stay again. I’m taking my business somewhere that cleans rooms and provides basics like toilet paper, clean sheets, and floors.
The only front desk employee who treated me well was the young man who checked me in. When I asked for a receipt, someone rudely asked if I was extending my stay again. On my second day, I was told just as rudely that I hadn’t checked in for that day. I won’t come back, and neither will any of my employees, because of how staff spoke to me.
That lobby chandelier is stunning, and I was surprised to see something so beautiful in a Motel 6. The room entrances are inside the building, which I don't usually see at Motel 6. I've stayed at these all over the country, and this is the biggest and nicest one I've been in. It felt safe and was generally clean, with hardwood floors and tile by the entry. There was a sticky patch beside the bed, and a few cosmetic spots could use paint and a proper cleaning. The room had a small fridge but no microwave; there is one in the lobby. No breakfast, but coffee, creamer, and sugar are available there. Parking was clean and plentiful. I'm a smoker, and the ashtray by the trash can had been emptied by morning, which I appreciated. They seem to care about keeping the place clean, comfortable, and affordable. There were a couple of problems. A pillow had nasty stuff on it, so my family member took it to the front desk. Nobody offered a discount, and they barely apologized. Also, after we settled in, we headed to the Cracker Barrel in the next parking lot and found a strong smell in the hallway. I saw an employee spraying something. It was awful for me, and much worse for my family member, who depends on oxygen and has severe lung problems. It made her physically sick. The smell had faded by the time we returned from dinner, but please be mindful of people with breathing conditions when using scented oils. There are options that are safe for people and pets with breathing problems. With some touch-ups and more careful housekeeping checks, this could be five stars. Still, this is easily the biggest and nicest Motel 6 I've stayed at.
When we checked in the day before, both rooms we were given had hair all over the bathtub. Then a housekeeper came into my room, used my toilet, and left her dirty used tampon on my belongings. I asked the manager to have the room cleaned, but they refused. The manager didn't seem to care or do anything about it. Awful, and the housekeeper and manager both need to be held accountable.
