Motel 6 Richmond, KY – EKU Campus Area

There were six roaches in the room when I arrived, and more crawling on the walls and bathroom floor. The place also smelled horribly of cat pee. I work third shift and sleep at odd hours, and when I lay down I could hear a sound inside the walls, almost like water dripping onto something. The front desk offered air freshener but said they couldn't move me because they were booked. Later, when I checked Travelocity from work, it showed one room available, then six. I also spotted a needle in the little strip of grass behind the building while walking my dog. Book at your own risk.

I'm near the end of a 30-day road trip, and this was the best shower I've had the whole way. Check-in was friendly, the room was clean, and I slept great.

For the price, the quality here honestly blew me away. I've seen roaches at every motel I've visited in Kentucky except this one, and I didn't notice any bugs here. The staff are friendly, the rate was pretty good, and the deadbolt works properly from inside. At another Motel 6, I couldn't lock the deadbolt from my room.

Our room was spotless, and the new-looking king bed was comfortable. The remodeling was done to a high standard, too. Staff were friendly and accommodating throughout. I'd definitely come back.
