Richmond Inn & Suites

A good budget hotel, run professionally by a family. The room had a comfortable bed, fridge, and microwave, and they allow pets for a $25 charge. There was a slight stale cigarette smell even though the room was supposed to be non-smoking, but I slept well and appreciated the hospitality.

The staff were friendly, and the rate was really cheap. That was about the only good part of the night. There were three cockroaches in our bathroom at one point, and when I switched on the light they scattered. I got photos of them. After that, the room just felt gross for the rest of our one-night stay. The Wi-Fi was also awful. There were several networks to choose from, but they all showed one bar or no signal. My Nintendo Switch 2 couldn't connect, and my Amazon Fire tablet kept losing its connection. I noticed this late at night and into the early morning. I wouldn't count on it for a business trip.

The room had a stale smoke smell that gave me a headache, even though I'm a smoker. It was awful. We wanted a king bed, but the only other room available had two beds. They wouldn't refund us, so we paid for a room somewhere else too.

I've stayed here several times when traveling on a budget, and for the rate it's hard to find a better room. The rooms are decent, with no bugs, and the Wi-Fi works. There's also an ice machine, vending, and laundry on site. Management is polite, and Walmart and several restaurants are an easy walk away.
