We’d been here about three hours and had already seen more than 15 roaches. There’s no refund even if you see the bugs and decide to leave, so don’t assume you can get your money back if the room is too bad. I don’t understand how it got this bad without anyone fixing it, or how the city hasn’t shut it down. The rooms are disgusting, there are obviously high people all over, and management is neither kind nor welcoming. With how rundown this place is, I wouldn’t be surprised if we woke up covered in bedbug bites too. I’m staying here because I recently lost everything and needed to get out of my car. I wish I hadn’t wasted the money and had just stayed in it. Please don’t stay here.

The place was worn down and had seen better days, but the room was clean, there were no bugs even in midsummer, and it smelled like fresh paint. For $40, it was cheap and clean, which is hard to find these days. We arrived around 1 a.m. and got a discounted room from a friendly, sleepy-eyed desk attendant. We left after checkout time, but there was no extra fee. The lobby coffee was surprisingly good.

The only good part of this place was the two housekeepers. They went above and beyond even though keeping the rooms clean seemed like a losing battle. Mike spent my last few days cleaning the carpets, and you could literally see the difference. The owner fired him for taking too long, even though the carpets apparently hadn’t been cleaned since they were installed. Those two were the backbone of the place and deserve five stars. Anyone needing people who really help should hire them. The rooms were in awful shape: old walls needing paint, carpet that felt like chewing gum, mold in several rooms, bedbugs, and a smell of mold and urine. There were drug needles scattered in the parking lot, the sink had no cold water, the cable didn’t work, and the AC was terrible. The owner was rude and disrespectful, speaking to people, especially women, like animals. When I asked for a refund after only 10 minutes because of the room, he said he couldn’t give one.

The room was filthy, with roaches and a floor so dirty my feet stuck to it. Someone’s sandals were left on the floor, and it was obvious the room hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. Staff could speak English, but would barge into your room without knocking. A woman accused us of stealing the vacuum cleaner, even though guests are expected to vacuum their own rooms. Worst place I’ve ever stayed.

Parking is awful, and the owners and staff are rude and hateful. They act like they can’t understand English. The amenities that do exist are junk, and there really aren’t any to speak of. The roach infestation is so bad it seems like only razing the place could fix it. It’s a scourge on Kentucky. A cardboard box under a bridge would be more peaceful.
