Clarion Inn

Breakfast was a real help, and the pool was clean, open, and refreshing. The staff were friendly from beginning to end, and the facility was clean. My room was comfortable and nice. I loved the whole stay and would recommend it to anyone. I'm looking forward to the chance to come back.

The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room had what I needed, including a coffee maker and fridge. A few lamps didn't work, extension cords were all over, and the paint and wallpaper were peeling.

I wanted to put some Choice points toward half the room, but the options I saw were all old, run down Clarions or Rodeway Inn locations. This Clarion in Richmond, KY was awful. The lot was crumbling, the front door had no electric opener, and the luggage carts were broken and awkward. There's no sloped path to roll bags down to the car, so you have to haul them over a high curb, load the cart, then struggle through the entrance. The night clerk barely glanced up. Inside, the hallways had old stained gray carpet against sterile white walls. The room was dirty and dusty, the air conditioning only sort of worked, and it smelled musty. There was no sense of security, with hallway exit doors left unlocked and people coming and going. Stay elsewhere. I'm really disappointed this is how Choice Hotels rewards loyal customers, and I won't stay loyal anymore.

For a Richmond hotel, it was decent, with good service and a chance to save money. The only thing that bothered me was how reluctant they seemed to be about replacing towels and other fresh items. I'd recommend it if you're looking to spend less.
