Holiday Inn Express Jackson - Ridgeland by IHG

The morning staff were amazing, and I was struck by how clean our room smelled. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, and this was the freshest-smelling place I can remember. I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area.

The lobby coffee is amazing, and the place felt professional and very well kept. We used the lobby and business meeting room for conference meetings, and both were in good shape and worked well. I didn’t stay in the rooms myself, but my host was very pleased with his and said he’d recommend the hotel for future trips to the area.

There was hair in the bathroom, the towels felt like sandpaper, and the creamer and sugar packets had already been opened. At check-in, even though I’d paid in full through booking.com, the receptionist required another $50 as a deposit that was supposedly to be refunded later. She wouldn’t take cash when I offered it, or when I left $100. Because my card information has been stolen several times, I didn’t want it stored, but that was the only option she gave me. I camp a lot, so I’m not especially picky, but I won’t stay here again. If Holiday Inn requires the $50 deposit, I won’t be visiting Holiday Inns anymore either.

I’ve stayed here three times now. It’s in a great location, the rooms are clean, and the staff are very nice. Breakfast is good, too, and they have meeting rooms if you need them. I’d highly recommend it.
