Days Inn by Wyndham Ripley

The owner and staff were kind, but the rooms need updating and the carpets need cleaning. Our first room had bugs and dirty bedding, including white stains on the bed skirts that looked like dried bodily fluids. We asked to move upstairs near the front and were given room 107. It was cleaner, though it smelled old and stuffy, so I bought a plug-in and Lysol spray. On the second night I noticed marks around the tub and asked if it was mold. The owner said the caulking was turning black, not mold. Breakfast was very limited: waffle mix, three old bananas, cereal, four honey buns, and six mini sausage biscuits. The juice machine wasn't working, and there were no other hot foods or fresh fruit. The pool wasn't available either. We had booked six nights, but I was going to ask about checking out early and finding another hotel, then email Wyndham because this didn't meet the company's standards.

The pool was padlocked every day, so we couldn't swim at all, despite being told before booking and again on arrival that it would be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. I was told they use the hotel's pool hose to water the garden at the home behind the hotel. Nobody was swimming. The rooms and pool didn't look like the posted pictures. The phones didn't work when I tried calling the front desk, and the toilet had problems. There are no do-not-disturb signs, and housekeeping came in whether we were dressed or not. They didn't knock properly, just tapped once and came in. When I asked staff about things, they didn't seem to care and said whatever would get me away from the desk.

The room was clean, as were the linens, pillows, and bathroom, and the property itself looked well kept. The gentleman who checked me in was very kind. We stayed in room 101, which had a king bed, and luckily parked right outside because it was raining. It was quiet, and the AC worked great after we turned it down to deal with the room's damp feeling. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The ice machine was at the far end of the building. I chose this hotel because it was on our route and reviews looked good. We had planned to stay in Dyersburg, but I'm glad we stayed here. The only reason for four stars is the toilet wobbled.

A comfy, really nice place. It's quiet and peaceful, and I'm enjoying my stay.
