Super 8 by Wyndham Willows

A quiet, safe place that worked well for my business trip. The owner and staff were welcoming and pleasant, and the bed was so comfortable I slept really well. I’d happily recommend it for an easy, relaxing stay.

Super 8 came through just fine. My room was comfortable and clean, and after a tiring day I got a good night’s sleep in the bed. In the morning, I had a nice hot shower and headed out. It was exactly what I needed.

The breakfast selection was pretty limited, but I wasn’t staying here for the food. The motel was nice, check-in was easy, and I think my room had been renovated recently. Even with triple-digit heat outside, the A/C worked great. There were plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance, plus truck parking behind the building.

We came back a year later, perhaps having forgotten how mediocre the place was, but the price was right. The pool was still filled with dirt, so there was no way to cool off in the hot weather. In the breakfast area, the juice machine was serving room-temperature juice, which didn’t appeal to me, and I wondered how it stayed safe without refrigeration. Breakfast options were pathetic: cereal, but no yogurt or granola bars, and the pancake maker seemed switched off or out of order. Next time I may try harder to find somewhere else at a decent price, even in a neighboring city. On our June 2025 visit, I noticed black marks on the room ceiling, as if there had been fire damage or something had erupted there. The bathroom doorknob was loose, the towel rack wasn’t secured to the wall, and one end of the shower curtain rod had pulled out and looked ready to fall. There was no basic bar soap for the sink and shower. I brought my own and used that, but I think the motel should provide it. We’d first stayed there as a convenient stop for one night near the freeway. The area didn’t feel very secure, so we unloaded everything from the vehicle as a precaution, which we didn’t really want to do. The pool had already been filled with dirt and grass, even though its site and room map led me to expect I could put on my swimsuit and cool off. Breakfast then was adequate: a pancake maker, cereal, and granola bars. There was a fridge for yogurt, but only one container when we arrived. It may have been early in the breakfast rush, though there were no other guests eating, so maybe they hadn’t planned well, unless someone had cleared out the fridge. I’d probably choose somewhere else next time, though this may be the best option at this price tier.
