The women working there were very nice, especially the housekeeper. She felt awful that there were no clean washcloths after my first day, though it wasn’t her fault. The staff were friendly and apologetic, but the whole place needs serious attention inside and out. My room was filthy. The bedding was stained, the walls had what looked like old soda splashed on them, the microwave had no knobs, and the AC unit had bent, jagged metal edges that seemed dangerous. I was also approached twice outside and asked to buy different kinds of drugs. The facility needs cleaning, paint, and repairs, enough staff for the workload, and an end to the traffic and partying. With a major chain name tied to it, something needs to be done. It has become an unsafe place for children and travelers, though it could be better with proper upkeep. I won’t stay again. Those women deserve a better job.

We left two hours after arriving. The room smelled of mildew, the toilet had urine on it, and it wasn’t clean. Paint was peeling, lampshades were torn, and the curtains were ripped. I didn’t feel safe with people sitting in the parking lot, and some rooms on one side of the hotel had boarded-up windows.

The check-in process was unbelievably complicated, and I canceled right away and went somewhere else. I didn’t feel safe even sitting in my car. When I entered the room, there was a chair propped against the door. The lampshades were torn to pieces, there was mildew in the bathroom, the walls were stapled together, and the carpet was torn. The towels were stained, there was mold on the bed, the door wouldn’t shut all the way, urine was on the toilet seat, and part of the wall was coming up. Absolutely terrible. Avoid this place.

The bathroom was freezing, even after the room warmed up, and the toilet was clogged. The room started out ice cold because it had a wall heater. The sheets smelled strongly of bleach but still had stains, and the furniture looked like rejected Goodwill donations pulled back out of the trash. It’s a really run-down hotel, with stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, and water damage on the walls, ceiling, and floor. This is the kind of place every TV show has warned me about.

The staff were friendly and apologetic, and seemed to know they couldn’t fix most of the problems. The manager wasn’t available when we asked, and when she came in the next morning, she said there was nothing she could do. We were only there for a few hours, but we will not return. We booked a king two-room suite with an in-room jacuzzi, but the website photos looked at least 20 years old and didn’t match the place. There were only two flat pillows for the king bed, though we managed to get two more. We had three guests and only two towels, and were told there were no more. The TV didn’t work at all, and we were told several rooms had no TV, as if that made it okay. Maintenance came by and said the internet was down, so there was no WiFi and nothing he could do. The fridge hummed but never got cold. There was no shower curtain, hair dryer, or coffee pot, though they were advertised. Vent covers, electrical junction boxes, and light covers were missing. There was mold on the ceiling in several places and stains all over the carpet. The door lock was broken, neither the ice machine nor the drink machine worked, and the room phone was dead, so I had to use my cell to call the front desk. People were fighting in the walkways all night.
