The Promissory Hotel

The staff did everything they could to make my birthday stay special. They were the best, so kind and helpful. The room had lots of space, a super comfortable bed, great linens, cozy furniture, and a cool vibe. You can walk to plenty of restaurants, shops, and activities from this perfect location. The Exchange, the music venue attached to the hotel, is such a great addition. I can’t wait to catch a show there and have dinner once the hotel restaurant opens. The Promissory has it all!

Jesse was fabulous, friendly, and accommodating, and even showed us around the building. Like others have said, the staff are wonderful. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and we’re looking forward to coming back soon.

I wasn’t sure what to expect since there weren’t many reviews, but I was impressed. This was my first overnight in Roanoke, and I wanted a comfortable, cute place for one night. The hotel is in an old bank building and was still being renovated, though the work caused us no problems. We had a pickup and I was worried about parking, but it was easy enough: unload at the front in a 20-minute space, then park in the city deck down the street. The gym was well equipped for a hotel this size. Our king suite was immaculate, spacious, cute, and nicely appointed. For the price, it felt like more expensive lodging. It has the comfort of a bigger luxury hotel, with the feel of a small one. The only things I’d add are a couple more trash cans and extra creamer for the in-room coffee. There wasn’t much of a view, but the room made up for that. I wish we’d booked two nights, and I’d definitely try to stay here again if I’m in Roanoke overnight.

The room was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and the shower delightful. Staff stood out too: they were friendly and had great suggestions for things to see downtown. The location is hard to beat, within easy walking distance of local restaurants and charming shops. The building is beautiful, and having a music hall under the same roof makes it a unique place. We’d absolutely stay again, whether for a concert or a getaway.
