Anchorage Inn Rochester

The bed was broken, and the room was filthy, with pee across the bathroom, bugs, cobwebs, and a shocking amount of trash under the beds. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. They know about the roach problem, yet there aren't trash cans inside the rooms, just a huge one outside each door. This place was awful and should be shut down. Stay far away.

The adjoining-room door wouldn't close all the way, so someone had stuffed a towel in it, and we could hear everything from next door. The room itself was old. The lamp didn't work, the chair cushion had come off its base, and the shower was badly stained.

The front desk interaction felt strange, though it wasn't necessarily the worst. What really bothered me was the dirty bedding, with crumbs and odd black hairs on the sheets.

We found the owners so welcoming, and there was always someone in the front office ready to help. Our room stayed spotless and was very comfortable, thanks to the hardworking housekeeping staff. The peaceful setting made for a relaxing getaway, with the White Mountains and Maine nearby. There are lots of comfortable places to sit by the pool and in front of the rooms, plus a cozy bonfire area. We absolutely loved this charming property and would highly recommend it.
