School 31 Lofts at Colors Studios

Each loft has its own style, and the decor is tasteful and unique. We had a comfortable little staycation here, with an easy check-in handled entirely by timely texts and phone. The king bed was very comfortable, and having a jetted tub right in the room was amazing. It's a Rochester hidden gem for short or longer stays, with a luxury feel at an affordable nightly rate.

We came to Rochester for what was meant to be a day trip to the Strong museum while our home was being painted for lead paint, but it turned into two days. My two little ones and I were exhausted after playing all day, and I was scrambling in the car to find a clean, trustworthy hotel worth the money. I usually stay at a Spring Hill suite by Marriott, but there isn't one in Rochester. I nearly booked the Hampton across from the museum, which seemed to have what I wanted, until I spoke to Joseph at 31 lofts. The kids were melting down in the background, but he calmly answered everything and walked me through it without pushing. I wasn't sure about trying an unfamiliar place, so I said I'd call back. Then the snowstorm was practically shaking my car, and I chose school 31 lofts at the last minute, partly because Joseph was so easy and friendly to deal with. I'm pretty sure he appeared out of thin air just then, because he was a godsend. He helped me choose the right room for our needs, carried what felt like 1000 pounds of luggage up when I discovered there was no elevator, made several trips in what was probably -12 degree weather, and set up a crib so I could leave my pack and play in the car. The crib had mirrors on both sides, which my daughter loved. The room was beautiful, with a huge tub, full-size fridge, a big king bed that my three-year-old nearly kicked me out of, and plenty of room for the kids to play. We didn't hear any noise inside; I put white noise on YouTube for them, and even us light sleepers could have slept through a marching band. I read complaints about noise, but it wasn't an issue for us. I'll stay nowhere else when visiting Rochester. Joseph's customer service went way beyond what I expected. My family flies into Rochester several times a year, and we spend the day tiring the kids out at Strong before driving back to Buffalo. Staying at school 31 lofts was so much better than heading straight home that it's our new tradition. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving us the clean, safe place I wanted and much more. Joseph made me comfortable enough to try somewhere new. You're stuck with me now, see you next time!

School 31 was a fun surprise on my drive home through Rochester. It was just off my route, with great off-street parking right by the entrance, and they sent clear instructions ahead since I was arriving late. The room and bed were comfortable, and it was quiet. The playful vintage design made for a very cool stay.

Check-in was smooth and convenient, and the room was beautiful. But there was no carpet or area rug, and the walls were so thin that when someone banged on them because we were making too much noise, it ruined the mood. Otherwise everything was okay.
